Notes on Choosing

How to buy well

i.

Mamra vs. regular almonds

Oil content, density and crunch — what actually separates a heritage almond from a commodity one. Mamra carries 50–55% natural oil against 25–30% in regular varieties.

Why W-180 is the king grade

170–180 kernels per pound, against 300–320 for standard W-320. Fewer, larger, hand-selected — the grade gifting is built on.

Reading a Kashmir walnut

Thin shells, pale plump halves, rich plant omega-3 — high-altitude J&K orchards do the work.

Premium Packaging, not pouches

Airtight paper tubes keep natural oils from oxidising — freshness sealed at origin, not at a warehouse.

Questions, Answered
What makes Mamra almonds different from regular almonds?

Mamra almonds are a heritage variety grown rain-fed in Iranian orchards. They carry roughly double the natural oil content of regular commodity almonds — a denser bite, naturally sweet buttery taste, and more vitamin E and magnesium per gram. You can recognise them by their curved, plump shape and deep ridges — never flat or uniform.

Why do W-180 cashews cost more?

W-180 is the largest commercially available cashew grade — only 170–180 kernels per pound, versus 300–320 for the W-320 grade in most retail packs. Fewer, larger, whole kernels per kilo means a higher price, and the creamy texture premium gifting is built on. Ours are hand-selected and never chemically polished.

How should I store the tubes after opening?

Keep the tube tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. In Indian summers, refrigerate after opening — the natural oils stay fresh for up to 6 months. Avoid transferring to plastic pouches; the airtight tube is doing the preserving.

Do you ship across India?

Yes. Every order is hand-graded and packed fresh in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, and dispatched from Noida for delivery across India. Estimated delivery dates are shown on each product page.

Are Aurafyn products certified?

Yes — Aurafyn operates under FSSAI Lic. No. 22725925002232. Every batch is quality-checked for purity, moisture and freshness before packing. No added oil, no salt, no preservatives, no polishing.
